There is a new solar jeep in town!  Yes! Solar Solutions, Cary energy solutions company and solar integrator, customized a Power Wheels jeep with a 20 watt solar panel that keeps new owner Brooke Ammons going long after the battery would have given out.  The jeep, retrofitted for a Home Show giveaway, was originally won by Teresa Hale, who donated it to the Trentini Foundation, a scholarshop fund for Wake Forest-Rolesville High School students.  The Foundation awarded about $40,000 to students bound for college this fall, and the jeep was part of the silent auction to raise funds.  Brooke's grandfather, local builder and developer Jud Ammons bought it for her.  Brooke's dad, Jeff Ammons, a developer in his own right, says Brooke quickly mastered her driving skills, and learned she did not need her big brother to drive her as he had convinced her.  What a powerful ride for that little jeep: from the "body shop" of Yes! Solar Solutions to the home of Teresa Hale, to the Trentini foundation, to Brooke's backyard, to college with seven young people.  Go Solar!
